We’re Hiring

Driverless technology is taking off and is going to completely change the world.   At Driverless Transportation, we’re working to become the premier website for information on the industry. We currently get our message out with the use of social media, the Mile Marker weekly, and by sharing news from the industry.  We’re looking for someone to help us maintain an ever growing amount of information on the industry.   If this is something that sounds exciting to you and is an area that you’d like to work in, please keep reading.

The initial job is to maintain and add content to the site.  Through a variety of means, we gather information that must be entered and updated on the system.  In addition, we need help with managing our social media content, help to grow our followers and track our progress.  At times, we will need support in our market research efforts.

Here’s the basic skills that you’ll need:

  • An extreme attention to detail. There are lots of little things required in updating the site and we want to make sure that all the i’s are dotted and t’s crossed.
  • You won’t really need to know HTML. We use WordPress to manage the site and most updates are done using posts.  There is the occasional need to drop into HTML but we can help with that when necessary.
  • Comfort with hashtags, writing in 140 character chunks and a basic idea on how to make things interesting with social media.
  • Solid writing skills.
  • A basic ability to manipulate pictures using an application like Photoshop. This will mostly just involve cropping and resizing but is important to the overall look of the site.

You’ll have almost complete flexibility with the hours you work.  We see this as part-time position (20 hours per week) to start that may expand to full-time as the business grows, though we also might consider just bringing on another person part-time.  Location is flexible as well, we don’t mind if you want to work from home. It would be a plus if you are in the DC area so we can get together once in a while, but if not we can make that work.

If you are interested in joining the team, please send your resume and a cover letter on why you think you’d be a good fit to info@driverlesstransportation.com.   In your cover letter, please include a business card sized image of something related to driverless transportation.  We promise we’ll send a response one way or the other.  This may be a perfect job for some in college or a stay at home parent with school age children.
