With the potential cost-saving opportunities of autonomous technology, commercial truck operators are now looking into advancing their systems through autonomous driving or semi-automated technology.

Commercial truck makers and providers including fleets, OEMs, and Tier 1 or 2 companies are researching and developing the technology to completely take the driver out of the car, or at least provide an alternative to human drivers. This is done through a number of technologies installed in the truck such as sensors, cameras, “platooning” systems, LiDAR, RADAR, connectivity, hardware, software, and of course, security.
