Who and Why? Simply put, it is a community service organized by the community members. For the uninitiated, some of us fun loving folks from the transportation community of practice decided to pull together a networking event that brings the visitors and locals alike from across the transportation spectrum and give them a space to network without the usual hangups. Since Twitter was the binding force we decided to call it a tweetup (scroll below to learn more) and bring together those active on Twitter and the ones who are not even aware of its existence.

What’s in it for you? Awesome networking opportunity at ZERO cost. You will get to unwind from the conference mode, hanging out with a FREE beer or wine (and some nibblets) in hand and chatting up the fellow transportation professionals.  Since many of you enjoyed our first tweetup in 2013 and requested a repeat, we decided to go for it. The more the merrier and it can’t be any truer than this event. So, bring your friends along and spread the word among fellow transportation professionals at #TRBAM.

What’s a Tweetup? So, you’ve never been to a tweetup or heard of one? No worries. It will be like any other happy hour but with a lot of cool people who use twitter to engage and learn from each other on a daily basis. It is definitely NOT a group of anti-social people hunched over our iPhones and tablets tweeting away. No worries we won’t be busy tweeting and ignoring you. Transpo folks of all shades and stripes - engineers, policy makers, finance geeks, transit advocates, bike evangelists, etc, etc - show up to have fun.
